Just Beyond The Bridge

Another Echos Night

Monday, February 13, 2006

Twice out in one week might be considered a little frivolous for the most part this year, what with all the work that comes my way from the course. However, two weeks running I have managed FND and a Saturday follow up. Admittedly, I might not have gone out if Butts hadn't hung around, but it turned out to be an a really good night.

We started drinking late. It was some weird vodka/cranberry/lemonade concoction that tasted bad, and only got worse the more you drank it. Anyway it did the trick and we spent an hour or so watching the 100 greatest sexiest moments, which was ideal going-out fodder. After we caught a cab into town, and took a couple of pints in Lloyds before moving onto Echos.

Giles sorted me out with a box of twistee shots as soon as I got in the door (cheers mate) and once again I found myself distributing things for Echos. There were a lot of the usual crew out. After we left we stopped for a moment, and I got into a conversation with Swede and Chrisday about something that I was hilarious, but unfortunately not memorable. Our attention soon turned to Chris Jones (Butt's housemate) who was disagreeing with a very angry copper. I don't know how the altercation started, but Chris was winding the guy up who was physically trying to 'move him along'. Chris was coming out with stuff like "I'm a lawyer; I know my f***ing rights..." until the policeman quoted "section four, no swearing". Chris quickly quoted "Section Five, no pushing". He then bent down and spent sometime doing up an imaginary shoelace which only went to annoy his policeman and the other four who had just turned up. He spent a minute or so assuring them he'd be ready in a minute, much to their bemusement and level of 'annoyedness'.

After all this food was on my mind, we picked up a sub and got another cab back home. On realising we had no money to pay, we told the cabby to take us to Tescos first. I got out to go to the cash point, while Butts and Sean jumped out and did a runner. I therefore had to pay for it all myself. There are only a few words that I could use to describe them but none of them would be suitable for under 18s, so I won't write them here.

I managed to upload quite a large batch of photos into my gallery today. The new ones are mostly filed under 'Lufbra > Final Year', if you want to check them out.
