There are a number of moments in life summed up by songs. For me, a lot of them are rock. For example the Foos sum up most of my summers - but as they are my blanket favourite, I can't apply them to any single moment in my life. Bare Naked Ladies' One Week reminds me of Year 11 and the time spent revising in those early hot summer days. Hanson's MmmBop reminds me of the first year of secondary school. Cornershop's Brimful of Asha is associated with my second year and so on. I have many of these songs that carry a reminder of good times, but no band holds more individual links than the one I went to see for the first time last night. Oasis provided the sound track to the first years I got in to music, and even before I started to. The indelible mark they left on the 90's means that songs that were released even before I noticed music are now critical parts of my life collection.

Champagne Supernova reminds me of the summer of Year 10, Don't Look Back In Anger was the first song I ever heard played live and by friends. Wonderwall is associated with a very drunken early morning with many friends from Uni, even if most of these songs were firm favourites of mine before they acquired there 'moment' as Jojo puts it.

The set last night couldn't have been better. They played the best of what I was hoping for, and our seats in such a small arena meant a good, clear view of the Gallaghers who provided some brilliant entertainment in between tracks. Morning Glory, Songbird, Live Forever, The Masterplan, My Generation... It really made the week for me, Devito, Jojo, Tim, Nature & Ellie.
