Just Beyond The Bridge

Tiredness

Monday, September 04, 2006

For some reason my sleep pattern has gone beserk of recent, and have found it increasingly hard to keep my eyes open in the afternoons this past week. I find myself up until the early hours even on nights I'm not out and a complete lack of willpower is causing me to go to bed somewhere between 2 and 3am.

This is just a recent thing and I can attribute it to having a number of lye-ins recently, which ends up in a cyclical motion of feeling less tired at night, so staying up longer and wanting to sleep in more. Not having any early morning commitments during the holiday is also another factor.

Either way it's got to stop. I'm feeling driven to be creative, driven to learn new languages, driven to get really annoyed that MySQL apparently won't install on the WDM.

In the meanwhile I'll just moan about it and take out my frustration annoying the cat.

I have to admit when I found out that Steve Irwin had been killed this morning, I was more surprised than I would have thought I'd have been. Although I've always assumed that he would eventually succumb to some kind of serious injury (how can you fail to loose some part of your body doing that?), it's a real sadness and tragedy that someone who was so passionate about what he did and who provided such great entertainment to millions should simply vanish. It's compounded by the fact he leaves behind his wife and two young kids.

As a personal tribute, here is is an old photo that would never have otherwise have made an appearance. I assume that Steve would have wanted to go to a place where there are more salties than he could ever have dreamt of, and so I wish him an eternity of close run-ins and dangerous encounters with his favourite animals. I guess that is what he would have wanted most.
