There seems to be a steady stream of work coming in for
me. I was approached the other day by a company in London importing exclusive baby clothing for the Sloane Square
set or something along those lines. They need a logo. DDS and I are also pushing on with the Dandy stuff
and it looks like we are getting around to agreeing terms. I've still got the Fragwear account on the boil and
there looks like BUSN are going to need a push in the right
direction in the not too distant future.
On the coursework side of things, I spent yesterday putting my RSA design in
ProENGINEER. Not an exciting task in the least, but hopefully when it's all done I'll be able to bosh out some
really sweet renders, so it should hopefully all pay off.
Tomorrow is D-Day for our MDP logbooks which we are
getting back, and we are already looking at writing a spec for the product. Despite the fact I feel like we're
flying at the moment, the end of term seems no closer than it did a month ago, even though Tesco's are already
stocking Christmassy delights.
The parents are due up today. I'm not sure when they are arriving so I'm
going to try and get some work done before it's too late.

Last night was brilliant. Two nights in a row that have been
thoroughly enjoyable - life hasn't been this brilliant in ages.
We started with drinks around at the Palace.
Duffy, ChrisDay, Louisa, Jojo and Emma all joined us, along with a couple of new faces; Chris' girlfriend Olivia
and Jono's old mate Rich King. The early part of the evening saw us cut through the best part of three crates
(although I was taking it fairly easy due to a cracking headache) before we got onto the absinthe. I hate the stuff,
but we've really got to get through the bottle by the end of the year.
All the usual games came up. Quite a
good run of Ping Pang Pong and Ring of Fire produced some funny results and Jono clearly got the full 'birthday
experience'.
At this point we decided to give Jono his presents. This comprised of a for her him
foot spa, a Dance with Steps video, a Danny Baker's Greatest Goals video, a happy hardcore CD from 1994 and a set
of fake magnetic diamond earrings. As a final treat Rufio, Swan, Devito and myself had prepared (in the loosest
sense of the word) a rendition of Backstreet Boy's I Want It That Way. The result was incredibly funny to
perform and the audience seemed pretty impressed too. Strangely Simon Cowell hasn't been on the phone to any of us
yet.
Devito was sick in the kitchen sink (appreciating that little trick) and Swan dared him to poke him with
a drawing pin, which he did, and Swan started bleeding everywhere. It's it his own damn fault so no
sympathy.
We all then went to Echos. They were doing some WKD promo, and I came away with some rather fetching
glowing necklaces (partying just like 1992). There was a lot of propping Jono up and continued drinking until Rich
and Devito took him home, although Devito made it back straight after.
The end part of the night was probably
the most eventful part. Me and Swan spent quite a lot of time wrestling, Benji came and joined in, I watched Scott
and Nick (two of my clients) performing an elaborate ballet routine and then we went to Subway where we were served
by the most friendly server ever.
On getting home Swan proceeded to start emptying the dregs of the finished
cans over my toes as we sat in the lounge. Unfortunately this escalated out of all proportion when I retaliated by
emptying a mug of water over his head. He responded by tipping a full glass of Blossom Hill over me, then a full can
of Carlsberg. I smelt lovely. The bastard.
I spent this morning erasing the profanities off the kitchen board
in expectation of Jono's parent's arriving. The photos from the night paint an interesting picture of life in the
Palace. All in all, a super night.
Last night was a good laugh. The main reason I found it all so
enjoyable was that I can't remember anything that I did that was either embarrassing or detrimental to my health
(apart from the alcohol). We started at the Palace and then headed to the Union where Manky Mark, Mockney Jon and
Bellsniff were all up for the weekend. We pulled Manky's usual stunt of lifting people up using a hand lock between
the legs, but he responded with the only way to get out of the manoeuvre - pulling mine and Swan's hair as hard as
possible until you stop. It worked.
Today is Jono's birthday. Happy birthday Jono. It is also Fat Dave's.
Happy birthday Sausages. In honour of the first birthday we are having a house get together then on to Echos or
wherever Jono has planned for us to go. To celebrate his, Dave took us all paintballing today. Expensive, but fun as
usual. Bellsniff, Blondage and I made a mean team (even though we kept on losing, right up until the end).
Other things of note include me going for a ride in Lakha's brand new mustard yellow Porsche and the bloody
snail who has crawled all over my shoes leaving brilliant trails. I'll kill it if I find it.
Onwards.

I have three philosophies on sport, and they are each
quite simple.
- I go to Loughborough Uni, which by virtue of it being a sporting university means that I
am automatically fitter than anyone who doesn't come here.
- I was built for comfort not for
speed.
- No pain; No pain.
I also don't like computer games. Combine my hatred of consoles, with
distaste for 'healthy movement' (especially football) and you have my ultimate nemesis; Pro Evolution Soccer.
Unfortunately when you live in a house with four people who are more enthusiastic (one is the worlds greatest
football statto, two coach the Lufbra freshers' team and the other, well he just really likes football) then you
end up witnessing a lot of Pro Evo.
However today I got my revenge. Not only do I have a passionate loathing
for this type of thing, I'm crap at it too (the two things are probably not related). This meant when I scored my
first goal, then actually went onto win (with the assistance of the Swan) it practically left Jono and Sean in
tears. Ok, not tears, but pretty stunned. Unfortunately this good luck has actually got me a little interested and I
can see myself trying it again, at least until I prove it was an entire fluke and once again resign to
"never playing the damn thing again".
So I'm in a good mood. I'm also in a good mood
because my video showreels are done and because all else is well in my world. The kitchen and lounge a spotless
following a crusade to clean it all up (it was looking a state). I'm also in a good mood because my product didn't
get ripped apart in my critique session. Sweet.

I've been up to stuff
today ranging from making steak and cheese toasted sandwiches, learning how to write business plans, skipping
lectures, handing over CDs to clients, watching music videos, directing video showreels and drawing up proposition
boards. I think the marker pens have gone to my head slightly.
Tomorrow I have a dissertation tutorial (forgot
about that one until Si mentioned it a minute a go. Whoops) and a short informal presentation. It also looks like I
will be finishing off these two videos then as well as Nick never got back to me about coming over. I also need to
speak to DDS about getting this business stuff kick started.
Tongy is sending me a copy of his new mix to get
up on the website,
and I need a break from the computer. I also made the critical mistake of not covering my bike saddle last night and
arrived at lectures this morning slightly wet-arsed. On the up though, all my prints from this summer and my milan
trip came through today. Until I get around to buying the correct mounting materials I'm going to have to try and
stash them somewhere safe, but it's not easy to store over 1000 photos in little blue packets. The sooner I get
them in folders the better.
Oh, my recommendation for the day; go check out the new Jamiroquai video
(Don't Give Hate a Chance). one of the best bits of animated video in a while.

In retrospect it was probably a little harsh
of me to say treat when those two little kids answered the door. I don't know what the rules are on handing out
trick or treat - there has to be some kind of regulation saying that you should hand out edible food. Unfortunately
when I checked the cupboards ("Two seconds mate; I'll see what we've got" I discovered that I
hadn't got anything worth handing out, and as no one else was about I had to think quickly. It never struck me that
the worst trick two 8 year olds could pull on me was probably squirt me with water, I was too proud to back down
anyway now.
So I went into my room and picked up the first, vaguely sweet item that came to hand. I really
hope the fact that the biscuits were covered in chocolate made up for the fact they had been open for five weeks on
my desk, and all the nice ones (the ones that were still vaguely crispy) had been eaten. I hope I can't get done
for poisoning kids, or even worse, I hope their dad isn't stacked.
It reminds me a bit of watching my school
housemaster answer the Halloween door to Mr Jenkin's kids while he was holding what looked like a mug of coffee.
When the kids asked trick or treat, he said trick and before they could do anything he emptied the mug of water over
them and shut the door. I've always admired that sort of behaviour, although it probably breaches international
conventions.
Apart from that I've been pretty lazy in relation to coursework. Even though I made a concerted
effort to do some, my enthusiasm dwindled quickly and I ended up doing stuff for people who pay me (rather than the
university work I pay to do - there has got to be some kind of irony in that).
Tomorrow I have scheduled a
meeting with a metallurgist and got a number of other tick boxes to check, however I got the shopping done for this
week, so I can't use that as an excuse to get out of doing work tomorrow afternoon.
